The Wind and the Rain / 6 haiku

remembering
the way these branches moved
yesterday

the wind suddenly—
how many leaves
in the air?
                              [after Hokusai]

the rain suddenly—
patches of blue sky
between the clouds

sunset or
the ghost of wild cherry

these glow-flies
in the quiet night

how difficult
to remember
the sound of rain at night
